Burnout in the workplace is a growing concern, characterized by chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, and a decline in productivity. Employees experiencing burnout often feel overwhelmed, detached, and unable to meet the constant demands of their roles. This state of mental and physical fatigue not only impacts individual well-being but also undermines team morale and overall organizational performance. In this interview with Corporate Wellness Magazine, Sunny Velikova, Founder of NouraWell and Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist talks about dealing with burnout and the innovative approach her organization, Nourawell, is taking to tackle this burden.

NouraWell Story
Well-being is more than a concept; it’s a way of life. My personal journey began in the demanding creative industry, where career ambition often came at the expense of my health. After multiple bouts of burnout, I realized something had to change. Yet, even after taking breaks to focus on my health, I found myself slipping back into the same patterns. It wasn’t just my story – many of my colleagues and collaborators faced similar challenges. This shared struggle sparked my commitment to making well-being a priority, not an afterthought.
I’ve always been passionate about supporting others in their wellness journeys, but I wanted to do more than provide temporary relief. This led me to launch NouraWell, a business dedicated to helping professionals manage their health and well-being while driving organizational success.
At the heart of NouraWell is the belief that prioritizing self-care enhances both professional performance and personal fulfilment. This philosophy inspired the development of the NouraWell Framework, which focuses on six essential aspects of well-being: body, mind, community, purpose, finances, and environment. By addressing these areas, we empower individuals and teams to thrive, fostering stronger collaboration, higher morale, and greater resilience.
The Certified Corporate Well-being Specialist (CCWS) Program
The CCWS program was pivotal in shaping my approach to corporate wellness. It equipped me with the tools to design impactful strategies, measure their success, and align well-being initiatives with organizational goals. This alignment ensures that both employees and businesses can succeed together.
The Evolving Corporate Landscape
The corporate world is undergoing a significant transformation, where well-being is no longer a luxury – it’s a necessity. Organisations increasingly recognise that holistic approaches to wellness, addressing physical health, emotional resilience, community connection, and financial literacy, are key to long-term success.
As hybrid work models become the norm, well-being strategies must integrate seamlessly into physical and virtual environments, ensuring employees feel supported wherever they work. At NouraWell, we address challenges like burnout, absenteeism, and presenteeism through tailored programmes that create sustainable change.
Gone are the days of superficial perks like free snacks or office yoga. Today, companies must innovate beyond salary adjustments to build environments where employees feel valued and engaged. By fostering a culture that prioritises well-being, businesses can attract top talent, reduce turnover, and maintain high productivity.
Supporting Employee Well-Being
Our services are designed to support both business and employee success, offering customisable solutions to meet unique organisational needs. From small-scale workshops to immersive city retreats, and in-depth assessments and consulting, we address the core challenges affecting health, well-being, and productivity.
By aligning our strategies with your business goals, we help create thriving workplace cultures that enhance satisfaction, reduce turnover, and drive sustainable success.
Corporate well-being is about more than perks – it’s about building environments that support employees in every aspect of their lives. For those developing well-being programmes, my advice is simple:
- Adopt a holistic mindset: Go beyond traditional fitness and yoga classes to address the broader ecosystem of health and wellness.
- Understand unique challenges: Tailor initiatives to the specific needs and values of your team.
- Encourage engagement: Foster meaningful connections and collaboration across all levels of the organisation.
- Seek expertise: Collaborate with professionals to create programmes that are inclusive, adaptable, and impactful.
Well-being is a journey. By prioritising it, we can create workplaces where individuals and teams thrive – unlocking the full potential of both employees and businesses.
